On Tuesday September 12, 1978 representatives of Simcoe County livestock clubs, soil and crop improvement associations met with county staff of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food to discuss the possibilities of organizing a “Farmers Week”.
The first program was offered in January 1979. That program has evolved from “Simcoe County Farmers Week” to “Ag Info Days” to and now to “Central Ontario Agricultural Conference”.
We owe a great debt of gratitude to the vision of our fellow farmers that night so many years ago.
